BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF KHENPO JAMPAL SANGPO

Khenpo Jampal Sangpo was born in 1975 in Tibet. At the age of 12, Khenpo had his early education in Dompa and entered monastic life at the age of 17 in Rela Monastery, Qinghai. He received High Tantric initiations and teachings from the great accomplished master Lama Loga Rinpoche from Mother Sakya Monastery, Tibet. Rinpoche was a guru of many Tibetan High Lamas now.

Later he joined Dzongsar Shedra to study Buddhist Philosophy under the guidance of Khenpo Pema Damchö and Khenpo Puntsok Namgyal for 5 years.

Thereafter, he joined the Sakya Institute in Puruwalla, District Himachal Pradesh, India for higher studies. He studied the ten spiritual texts which include all the major divisions of Buddhist Philosophy and obtained Ka Chu Pa (equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree) and later completed Loppon Degree (equivalent to Master Degree). Upon graduation from Sakya Institute, he continued on as a teacher for 3 years.

His Holiness Sakya Trizin assigned him to Dolma Ling Nuns Institute in Dharamsala as a lecturer in Buddhist Philosophy and Tibetan Language.

He wrote and published a book entitled ”Sharu labtze” , a Tibetan poem about life as a monk. Currently there are 2 more books waiting to be published.
